In his first book,
Pakuwon City Ricker
Winsor wrote about his adventurous international life
which started early and has continued into the ripening of
years. Chasing love and new experience, he lived in Mexico
as a teenager and later rode a motorcycle through Europe
and into North Africa, living with beatnik expats and
befriending local people , falling in love. As an
international teacher in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and
Trinidad he continued a deep exploration of the world.
Ricker is a writer and a painter and also a professional
blues musician with three cd’s to his credit and years of
experience performing. He came of age in New York City
between the time of the beats and the time of the hippies.
He has worked as a photojournalist, as a cabinetmaker, as
a teacher, and as an exhibiting artist. He has known some
of the great artists and thinkers of his time. In
The Painting of My
Life he writes
with an honesty and simplicity that approaches poetry.
Ricker lives in Bali, Indonesia
with his Chinese Indonesian wife, Jovita.
